Do you offer climate-controlled storage and why is it important?
Yes, every unit at Cranney Self Storage is climate-controlled. Climate-controlled storage units are temperature controlled so your belongings are not exposed to any extreme temperatures. Climate control means we maintain a temperature in the building between 55-80 degrees. This type of environment is ideal for storing furniture, metal, fabric, and other items.
Do you have a loading dock?
Yes, in addition our loading dock has a covered roof. If you are storing during a rainy or snowy day, the elements will be of no issue as you and your belongings will be covered.
How do I get my items to the unit?
We have a covered loading dock where you can park your vehicle. At the door you will enter your computerized access code to let you in. Once inside the building, there will be a long line of dollies to choose from so you can wheel your belongings to the unit.
What security features do you offer?
We have 24/7 video surveillance cameras which surround the entirety of the building. In addition, we have a sprinkler system along with a central station fire alarm system connected directly to the Danvers Fire Department.
How tall are the units?
You have 8 feet of clearance to the ceiling in every unit.
How many floors are there?
We have 3 floors of storage with an elevator so there’s no need to worry about carrying your items up a flight of stairs.
Do you offer RV, boat, car, or motorcycle storage?
Yes! We now offer RV, boat, car, and motorcycle storage in our outdoor parking lot. We offer two types of parking spots:
1) 9 feet wide 20 feet long for $100 per month (ideal for cars and motorcycles)
2) 9 feet wide 30 feet long for $150 per month (ideal for RV’s and boats)
Do you require a security deposit?
We do not require a security deposit.
Do I need a lock?
If you do not already have your own, we sell them at the front desk. When purchasing a lock from us you, and only you, will have the keys for that lock.
Who has access to my unit?
The only person with access to your storage unit will be you. If there is anyone else you would like to access the unit, you can let us know so we can include their name on your account.
When can I access my unit?
You can only access your unit during out hours of business. On Monday-Friday our hours are 8am-5pm, Saturday are 8am-4pm, and Sunday’s we are closed.
Can I buy boxes?
Yes, we offer 8 different sized boxes at the front desk.
Do I need to give notice when moving out?
We prefer to have at least 10 days’ notice prior to moving out.
How do I pay?
We want you to have the most convenient and stress-free experience when it comes to making a payment. Rent is due on the first of each month so you can make a payment through cash, check, or any major credit card. For your convenience, we offer AutoPay which automatically charges your card without any additional fees on the first of each month. If you did not want to do this, you can always mail us a check/cash or pay with a credit card over the phone.

Climate-control is a vital part of storing as it combats extreme temperatures which can damage your belongings. Because we are a climate-controlled facility, this ensures that the temperature in your unit will never go below 55 degrees or higher than 80 degrees.

The safety and security of you and your belongings is what matters most to us. Storing with Cranney, this is an issue you will never have to worry about. When storing with us you will have your own lock and key, and you will be the only one with that key to your unit.
We also have 24/7 surveillance cameras surrounding the inside and outside of the building. Additionally, we have a sprinkler system along with a central fire alarm system connected to the Danvers Fire Department. This means if for whatever reason our sprinklers go off, the Danvers Fire Department (located less than a mile from our facility) will be immediately notified and respond promptly.
